Player Gets ARC Raiders Running in First-Person — And It’s Way More Immersive

One ARC Raiders player has shared a unusual experiment: they managed to play the game entirely in first-person, even though it was designed as a third-person action title. The enthusiast posted a short gameplay clip and broke down their impressions in detail.
According to the author, ARC Raiders does not necessarily need a first-person mode — they like the third-person camera and that’s how they originally fell in love with the game. Still, the experiment turned out to be surprisingly powerful in terms of atmosphere: ARC machines felt far more intimidating, and the overall sense of scale and danger ramped up significantly. The closer view of the environment made the world feel richer and helped accentuate its bleak sci-fi aesthetic.
The player noted that in first-person they felt much more engaged and immersed in what was happening on screen. They also acknowledged that such a mode could be a tactical disadvantage compared to third-person players, but said they would still welcome it as an optional way to play.
The experiment was made possible thanks to access to the in-game console, which the user learned about from Reddit discussions. That console is usually used to disable fog or tweak brightness, but this time the player decided to see whether it could support more radical changes — and eventually forced the game into a first-person view.
Meanwhile, ARC Raiders studio Embark is cracking down on cheaters, with players already reporting the first wave of bans. The team has also announced upcoming changes that will introduce new tweaks and additions to the shooter in future updates.
