The Division Executive Producer Leaves Massive Entertainment for Battlefield Studios
Massive Entertainment has officially confirmed the departure of Julian Gerighty, Executive Producer of the Tom Clancy’s The Division franchise. The developer is heading off to a "new adventure" and will continue his career at Battlefield Studios, part of EA/DICE.
In a message to the community, Massive emphasized that Gerighty’s contribution became a foundational part of The Division universe and will remain deeply embedded in the studio’s DNA:
“While we’ll miss him, his mark will live on at Massive, and we’ll continue bringing the world he helped create to our players for many years to come.”
A separate message was addressed directly to Gerighty himself:
“Julian, your legacy is part of this studio. And remember: once an Agent, always an Agent.”
The studio also moved quickly to reassure players. The teams that built The Division alongside Gerighty remain in place and are continuing to develop the franchise with the same level of ambition. The Division 2, The Division 2: Survivors, The Division Resurgence, and The Division 3 are all still in active development and support.
While the departure of a key producer is always a notable moment for a major franchise, Massive’s statements suggest that plans for The Division remain unchanged. At the same time, Gerighty’s move to Battlefield Studios could prove to be a significant boost for the future of the Battlefield series.
Earlier this month, it was also reported that The Division 3 is shaping up to be a “real monster” — in the best possible sense of the word.
