The Lead Writer of Assassin’s Creed Mirage Appointed as Scriptwriter for Assassin’s Creed Hexe
Christopher Grilli, known for his work as a writer on Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and as the lead writer of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, has announced a new role on his LinkedIn page. He has been appointed lead scriptwriter for the upcoming installment in the franchise, currently known under the working title Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe.
I’m thrilled to share that I’m starting a new position at Ubisoft Montreal as a Lead Scriptwriter on Assassin’s Creed: Codename Hexe. Incredibly grateful to be a part of this team and project.
According to insiders, the game is still in its early stages of development yet is reportedly slated for release later this year — a surprising claim considering its main story may still be in progress. Grilli’s appointment as lead writer, however, strongly hints at a continuation of the narrative arc involving the Isu.
Assassin’s Creed Hexe is expected to deliver a more linear experience compared to previous entries. The story will center on a female protagonist named Elsa, who possesses supernatural abilities, set in 16th-century Central Europe during the era of the Holy Roman Empire. Developers are also said to be implementing a fear system inspired by the Jack the Ripper DLC for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.
Meanwhile, speculation continues around a potential remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. While Ubisoft has denied the rumors, fans remain convinced it’s simply part of a covert marketing campaign.
