Divinity: Original Sin 2 showed the best sales since its release in 2017
Sales of Divinity: Original Sin 2 jumped sharply after the announcement of the new part of the series. The game's performance has become the best since 2017, said Swen Vincke, head of Larian Studios.
It all started with the fact that one of the gamers shared an interesting observation: online in Baldur's Gate 3 surpassed the mark of 110 thousand people. Despite the fact that the game was released in 2023.
Swen Vincke responded to this post. According to him, sales of both Baldur's Gate 3 and Divinity: Original Sin 2 have been incredible lately. This is due to the fact that at The Game Awards ceremony, Larian Studio presented a new game in the Divinity universe.
"Divinity: Original Sin 2 really surprised us by having its best month since release in 2017. Wish I’d removed the squirrel in time".
The last sentence probably concerns a talking companion squirrel. Swen Vincke previously said that he hates this character and even tried to cut him out of the game.
