3D artist Leo Torres has unveiled a new video showcasing the village of Rorikstead from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5.7 using Lumen and Nanite technologies. The footage offers a glimpse of what Skyrim could look like on a modern game engine.

This project is part of a larger vision to create a more realistic version of Tamriel. According to Torres, his Rorikstead recreation features 16 times more detail than the original game.

I’m really extrapolating a lot here, given that in the game it was like, three huts and some cabbages.

Thought I’d go back through the drafts and finish some videos that I started ages ago, but eventually abandoned because they were either too small or too obscure and didn’t make sense to do a video on each – but some were kinda interesting and (surprisingly) I did get a few specific requests to do some of these, so here you go!

The scene was built in UE 5.7.1 and ran on an RTX 3090. Torres used a mix of third-party models and his own assets created in Blender. All objects and foliage utilize Nanite, while lighting and reflections are powered by Lumen. This time, Torres opted for TSR for anti-aliasing, whereas in previous videos he used DLAA.

Previously, Torres also showcased an enhanced version of Sovngarde from Skyrim, also created in Unreal Engine 5.
