Steam has expanded its free-to-play lineup with three more titles that were previously sold for money. The games that have now permanently switched to an F2P model are Crudelis, Trash Troopers: Earth Reclaim, and County Hospital 2.
Crudelis is a narrative-driven RPG with an estimated playtime of around 60 minutes, where every decision matters and leads to irreversible consequences. The game is set in a dark and hostile steampunk world at the end of the 19th century. Players experience the final hour in the life of Henry Shackleton, a scientist obsessed with bringing the dead back to life, whose plans are shattered by a sudden bandit attack.
The game features non-linear storytelling and meaningful player choice: conflicts in the world of 1896 can be resolved in multiple ways—or ignored entirely—shaping a unique path and leading to one of twelve possible endings. The atmosphere is enhanced by hand-crafted locations and an emotional piano-and-cello soundtrack, while the steampunk aesthetic, inspired by the Industrial Revolution era, sets the overall tone. The project holds an 83% rating on Steam and was previously priced at $6.

Trash Troopers: Earth Reclaim is a single-player eco-focused game in which players take on the role of a commander of the Trash Troopers squad in a future world devastated by pollution, radiation, and the consequences of fossil fuel use. Instead of traditional city-building, the gameplay revolves around environmental cleanup: collecting waste, dismantling old oil facilities, and recycling trash into useful infrastructure such as solar panels, water systems, housing, and recycling stations. The game previously sold for $5.

County Hospital 2 is a single-player first-person horror game with paranormal themes. Players explore an abandoned hospital using only a handheld camera equipped with night vision. In total darkness, you’ll navigate eerie corridors, interact with environmental objects, search for key items, and encounter aggressive supernatural entities, creating a tense and frightening atmosphere with jumpscare elements. The game currently holds a 33% rating on Steam and previously cost $5.
