Special Styx: Blades of Greed Trailer Recaps Events of Previous Games

A new recap trailer for the upcoming stealth-action game Styx: Blades of Greed has been released, offering a quick rundown of the events from the previous titles — Styx: Master of Shadows (2014) and Styx: Shards of Darkness (2017).

The story picks up after the events of the second game: Styx has destroyed the Amber factory of High Priestess Lyssril and left the dark elf city of Korrangar. Now, he travels by airship with a new crew, on a mission to obtain Quartz — a powerful and unstable resource that’s fueling tensions between humans, elves, and orcs.

Along the way, Styx must evade the Inquisition — a ruthless human faction determined to wipe out other races. He’ll have to secure the Quartz before the Inquisition does, at any cost.

The game invites players to explore large, vertical environments such as The Wall (the border of the human world), the orc village Turquoise Dawn, and the ruins of the elven capital Akenash. Players can use a glider, grappling hook, and Styx’s claws to overcome obstacles. The gameplay blends metroidvania elements, allowing for a flexible stealth approach, crafting weapons and potions, and using powers based on amber and quartz — including cloning, invisibility, mind control, and time manipulation. Every scenario offers multiple solutions, balancing strategy, exploration, and stealth.

Styx: Blades of Greed is set to launch on February 19 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
