Overwatch Levels Up: New Heroes, Six Seasons, and Reward-Filled Events

Blizzard has officially dropped the “2” from Overwatch’s title. The game will once again be known simply as Overwatch, not Overwatch 2. This marks the beginning of a new, “story-driven” era for the game’s universe, called “Reign of Talon.”
Ten new heroes are on the way. The first five have already been revealed and will be added on February 10:
- Domina (Tank) — Talon;
- Emre (Damage) — Talon;
- Mizuki (Support) — Talon;
- Anran (Damage) — Overwatch;
- Jetpack Cat (Support) — Overwatch.
The remaining five heroes will arrive over the course of the year.
The story will unfold across six seasons, featuring in-game events, hero trailers, animated comics, short stories, and map updates.
A new Conquest mode is also coming, where players choose a side — Talon or Overwatch — and take part in limited-time events with rewards like skins and more.
Blizzard explained the decision to drop the “2” by saying Overwatch is a living universe that keeps growing and surprising players, so they want to emphasize its ongoing evolution rather than mark it as just another sequel.
In other words, Blizzard is turning Overwatch into a live service with constant updates and new heroes, rather than a standalone “second chapter.”
By the way, back in December we covered an impressive D.Va cosplay from Overwatch.
