Battlefield 6 Season 2 Gameplay Trailer Released — New Map and More Await Players
As promised, the developers of Battlefield 6 have unveiled the gameplay trailer for Season 2, which kicks off on February 17 and will be available in both the main game and the free REDSEC mode.
The main highlight of this content update is the brand-new, large-scale map, Contaminated. Here, players will battle for control of a former NATO base in the mountains of Germany, all while contending with the effects of VL-7, a psychoactive gas that distorts visibility and alters perception on the battlefield.
Season 2 will also introduce three new weapons, two gadgets, and bring back the iconic AH-6 Little Bird light attack helicopter, a favorite among series veterans. The developers emphasize that the Extreme Measures update puts a stronger focus on close- and mid-range combat, dynamic assaults on fortified positions, and adapting to the unpredictable conditions caused by the VL-7 gas.
Recently, the team also announced plans to rework game balance and are preparing a major progression-focused update. More details can be found here.
Currently, Battlefield 6 averages between 20,000 and 50,000 concurrent players on Steam daily. For comparison, the game saw a peak of 747,000 players in its first days after launch.
Do you think the new season and the Contaminated map can shake up the gameplay and draw more players back to Battlefield 6?
