Konami unexpectedly removed several Metal Gear Solid games from sale

Konami studio has removed from sale Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PSP consoles, as well as the PS3 version Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. It happened without warning and came as a surprise to the fans.
Users note that the game pages have disappeared from stores. However, those who previously bought these MGS parts can still download games from their libraries.
According to the publication Push Square, Konami could have taken such a step due to the upcoming release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, which just includes updated versions of the aforementioned games.
"But the logic makes no real sense to us: we can’t imagine many people will be dusting off their crusty old consoles in order to purchase these ahead of the new compilation. And isn’t the whole point of the Master Collection to make these games more accessible on modern hardware anyway?"
It is noted that the Master Collection will be released no earlier than August 27, so it is difficult to name the reason for Konami's rush to remove old games.
Recall the collection Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 was presented at the presentation of the State of Play 2026. Later, Steam introduced the system requirements of the MGS parts included in it.
