Glowmade has announced that King of Meat, which launched in October 2025, is coming to an end. The game was published by Amazon Game Studios, which has recently scaled back its involvement in large-scale game development.

King of Meat is a cooperative platformer where players battle crazy monsters, tackle community-created dungeons, solve puzzles, overcome challenges, and unlock new abilities and gear on their quest to become the ultimate Contender.

Despite Glowmade’s creativity and innovative approach, the project unfortunately failed to find the audience the team had hoped for. As a result, the difficult decision was made to end investment in the game, and King of Meat’s servers will shut down on April 9, 2026.

Until then, players can continue to explore dungeons, fight monsters, and enjoy the game together with other Contenders.

Everyone who purchased King of Meat will receive a full refund in the coming weeks through the platform where the game was bought.

The developers have thanked the community for their support and active participation in King of Meat’s journey. At the time of writing, the game holds a 74% positive rating on Steam.

Earlier this year, Amazon Games also officially announced the end of the life cycle for New World: Aeternum.

What are your thoughts on the decision to shut down King of Meat?
