Skyrim’s Forgotten Vale Reimagined in Unreal Engine 5 With Lumen and Nanite

YouTuber Leo Torres has released a new video in which he recreates the Forgotten Vale of the Falmer from The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim using Unreal Engine 5.7.2, with Lumen and Nanite showcasing how Bethesda Game Studios’ iconic RPG could look on a modern engine.

The project is part of an ongoing initiative to build a more realistic and lore-accurate version of Tamriel, and according to the artist, even the small farming village of Rorikstead now features sixteen times more detail than in the original game. The scene was assembled in Unreal Engine 5.7.2 and rendered on an RTX 3090 GPU, using a mix of third‑party models and custom assets created in Blender, with all geometry and foliage powered by Nanite and Lumen handling global illumination and reflections. Interestingly, Torres opted for TSR anti-aliasing instead of NVIDIA DLAA — an uncommon choice for such demos, but one that helped maintain a stable, sharp image without excessive blur.

The fan remake is not available for download, as the videos are produced solely for the artist’s portfolio, meaning this is not a full-fledged remaster but rather a proof of concept showing how the Forgotten Vale could look in 2026 with true global illumination, dense geometry without aggressive LOD transitions, and modern rendering techniques.
