According to reputable insider Billbil-kun, Starfield could launch on PS5 as soon as April 7. This date had previously surfaced in leaks, and now it’s been backed by a credible source.
Previously an Xbox console exclusive, Bethesda Game Studios’ sci-fi RPG is rumored to be coming to PS5 at a price of £44.99. For comparison, the game launched on Xbox and PC in 2023 at the standard $70 price point.
Pre-orders are said to be opening later this month, coinciding with the official announcement of the PS5 version and the release of a major update.
Bethesda head Todd Howard has already cautioned that the upcoming update won’t radically change the game—despite widespread criticism—so fans shouldn’t set their expectations too high.
There’s no official confirmation yet, but it looks like an announcement is just around the corner.
Starfield is a sci-fi role-playing game from Bethesda Game Studios, set in the year 2330, when humanity has begun colonizing planets beyond the Solar System.
Players can create their own character with unique appearance, backstory, and traits, then freely explore over a thousand planets, visit cities and outposts, join factions, and take on a wide variety of quests. Spaceship management and customization play a key role: you can modify your ship’s appearance, upgrade its systems, assemble a crew, and engage in space battles—including boarding enemy vessels.
The game also features resource gathering, outpost construction, automated mining, research progression, and crafting. Combat combines firearms and energy weapons, zero-gravity shootouts, and jetpacks for dynamic and varied encounters.
