The Next Indie Hit? Replaced Demo Draws Over 185,000 Players

Sad Cat Studios and Thunderful have announced that Replaced has surpassed 850,000 wishlists on Steam. Alongside this milestone, the developers revealed that more than 185,000 players have already dived into the game's playable demo.

Since its release on February 11, the demo has maintained a stellar 90% positive rating on Steam. It offers a glimpse into the game's gritty cyberpunk world, showcasing its fluid movement, punchy combat system, and narrative setup. You can check out our full impressions of the demo right here.

Replaced is a retro-futuristic 2.5D action-platformer set in an alternative 1980s America. Players step into the shoes of R.E.A.C.H., an artificial intelligence trapped in a human body against its will, navigating a decaying society.

The full version of Replaced is slated to launch on April 14, 2026, for PC (via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store) and Xbox Series X/S. It will also be available on Game Pass on day one.
