Capcom removed Enigma Protector from Resident Evil 4 Remake. This happened just a month after she was added to the Denuvo.
Denuvo is a technology for protecting against unauthorized access in games. It allows you to avoid piracy, especially on release. In early February, Capcom removed Denuvo from the Resident Evil 4 Remake. This has reduced the size of the game by 422 MB.
It is worth noting that Denuvo is a highly controversial technology. Some players regularly complain about performance issues related to it. Anyway, just a few days later, another protection was added to the remake of the fourth Resident Evil — Enigma.
This decision caused outrage among gamers. And not pirates, but those who play legally. The fact is that the innovation broke DLSS4 and some modifications. Later, tests showed that switching to Enigma did not improve hacking protection, but it potentially worsened performance.
Capcom probably noticed these consequences, because today the Enigma protection was removed from the game, according to SteamDB. It is noteworthy that no new technology has been added to the game.
Have you noticed any problems in Resident Evil 4 Remake since the beginning of February, when Enigma was added to the game?
