As early as tomorrow, 11 games on PS5 Pro will receive support for the upgraded PSSR
Recently, the PlayStation 5 Pro received a software update that introduced an upgraded version of the PSSR upscaler. Initially, it was only available in Resident Evil Requiem, but starting tomorrow the update will also be available in 11 more games.
The following games will receive support for the updated upscaler on March 17:
Sony also confirmed that Crimson Desert will receive the new version of PSSR at launch — the game releases on March 19, while corresponding patches for Assassin's Creed Shadows and Cyberpunk 2077 will arrive later. In addition, PS5 Pro owners will be able to manually enable the improved upscaler in other games with older PSSR support through an optional system setting, although the company warns that results may vary from project to project.
Sony itself calls this update another step in the evolution of PS5 Pro. In the future, most new games labeled PS5 Pro Enhanced are expected to launch with support for the upgraded PSSR already in place.
Meanwhile, Resident Evil Requiem sales have surpassed 6 million copies. You can read our thoughts on the ninth mainline entry in the series in our review.
