Early GTA 4 Xbox 360 Build Leaks Online: Here’s What’s Been Found So Far
An early development build of Grand Theft Auto 4 for the Xbox 360, dated November 23, 2007, has surfaced online. The archive sits at a massive 127 GB, though the build is incomplete and contains numerous corrupted files. You can find the leaked files here.
Enthusiasts are currently dissecting the contents and have already uncovered several early assets, including placeholder models for a pistol and a female NPC, as well as an unrefined animation of Niko walking while aiming. If the community manages to get the build into a playable state, it could offer a fascinating look at the game's development just six months before its official launch.
Originally released in 2008 for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3, GTA 4 remains a fan favorite. Despite years of community pleas for a modern remaster, Rockstar Games has yet to make any official announcements.
In the meantime, the industry is gearing up for the release of GTA 6 in Fall 2026. In February, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive confirmed that the game’s active marketing campaign is set to kick off this summer.
