Zombie mode, unique weapons, and ferries: users have discovered what Rockstar removed from the final version of GTA 4

Grand Theft Auto 4 might not have been the same as we remember it. Recently, an early build of the game for the Xbox 360, dated November 23, 2007, was made public. However, the final version was released in 2008. The LibertyCity has published a detailed analysis of the changes that the developers decided to make before the release.

Finding an early build of the game is a challenging task, as these builds are not intended for widespread distribution. However, a fan was lucky enough to find a Devkit version of the Xbox 360 for sale. This is a special variation of the console that was only provided to developers. Interestingly, the seller did not realize how valuable the item was.

The city in the final version of the game was also simplified. For example, at the very last moment, they decided to get rid of the ferries that sailed from one side of the city to the other. And the Sabre, Turismo, and Uranus buses and cars originally looked a little different.

GTA 4 was a groundbreaking game for its time, thanks to its attention to detail. For example, when a helicopter lands on a shallow lake, the blades literally push the water apart. However, if the engine is turned off, the water will return to its original position. Even the technical director, Obbe Vermeij, was surprised by the impact of this feature.
