Independent Polish studio Fumi Games has unveiled a music video for the track Good Mouse by French band Caravan Palace. The song was written specifically for the shooter Mouse: P.I. for Hire and will be included in the game’s official soundtrack. The video is presented in the recognizable black-and-white style of 1930s animation.
At the same time, the developers revealed their plans for the Mouse: P.I. for Hire soundtrack release. It will arrive on streaming platforms on April 16, and pre-orders for the physical vinyl edition will open the same day. The record will include 18 original tracks by Patryk Scelina, as well as Good Mouse by Caravan Palace.
The developers also shared details about the work behind the game’s music. According to Scelina, the soundtrack for Mouse: P.I. for Hire was inspired by the repertoire of 1930s big bands. The composer wanted to capture the feeling of old cinema while also making each composition memorable enough for players to hum along to. The developers carefully analyzed the gameplay to understand exactly when each track should come in. As Scelina noted, the soundtrack in Mouse: P.I. for Hire does not merely accompany the story — it was designed so that the music literally “dances” around the player’s actions.
MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is a first-person shooter set in Mouseburg, a grim metropolis of anthropomorphic animals steeped in corruption and political intrigue. Players take on the role of Jack Pepper, a private detective with a troubled past who must unravel a web of conspiracies while confronting the mafia and corrupt police officers. According to the developers, completing the game may take between 12 and 20 hours. Mouse: P.I. for Hire is scheduled to launch on April 16 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Versions for PS4, Xbox One, and the original Switch will arrive later.
Previously, the developers of MOUSE: P.I. For Hire revealed the cost of the game. In the American market, the shooter will cost $29.99.
