Rumor: Next State of Play May Take Place on April 16 — What Is Sony Planning?

According to circulating rumors, the next State of Play presentation may be held as soon as next week, specifically on April 16. The information comes from insider NateTheHate, who emphasized that he cannot confirm the reliability of this report.
If the presentation does indeed take place, it would mark the second State of Play event of 2026, following the February showcase, where Sony revealed a number of announcements, including projects from its first-party studios.
Among the potential participants in the upcoming presentation are Sony’s internal studios. In particular, there is speculation that new footage or updates could be shown for Marvel's Wolverine by Insomniac Games, along with other anticipated projects, including a rumored God of War Trilogy Remake.
Marvel’s Wolverine is being developed exclusively for PlayStation 5. Its release is expected on September 15 of this year, although pre-orders have yet to open. The developers previously explained the reason behind this.
