Insider: next State of Play may take place on April 16 — focused on third-party games

Well-known insider NateTheHate reported that the next State of Play is likely to be held on April 16 — as early as next week.
He emphasized that the date is not окончательно confirmed, but that this is what his sources are pointing to.
Since this suddenly gained traction — I’ll share the unconfirmed date I’ve heard for the next possible State of Play: April 16. Emphasis on unconfirmed.
According to the insider, the presentation will primarily focus on third-party partners rather than first-party studios. That means Marvel's Wolverine and other PlayStation Studios exclusives may not appear — at least not as major announcements. Interestingly, the same date — April 16 — was previously mentioned by Tom Henderson as a potential reveal window for Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced by Ubisoft, though NateTheHate noted he’s unaware of any direct connection between the two.
The previous State of Play, held in February 2026, was quite packed: Sony announced that a remake of the God of War trilogy is in early development, showcased Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, and revealed several other projects. If the April presentation does happen, it will be the second one this year and will kick off a busy summer of announcements — with Xbox Games Showcase scheduled for June 7 and Summer Game Fest set for June 5.
