Animal Crossing Turns 25 — Nintendo Surprises Fans with a Special Gift

On April 14, 2026, the iconic Animal Crossing series officially celebrates its 25th anniversary — and Nintendo decided to mark the occasion with more than just words. Players of Animal Crossing: New Horizons received a surprise in-game gift and a new update.

To celebrate the anniversary, patch 3.0.2 has been released. In addition to bug fixes, it adds a special commemorative item: the Leaf Statue.

The Leaf Statue is delivered to players along with a letter styled after the original Dōbutsu no Mori game — the one that started it all on the Nintendo 64 back in 2001.
