Black Cat has been added to Marvel Rivals. Here are all the details about the second half of Season 7
NetEase Games has released a major mid-season update for Marvel Rivals. Version 7.5 launched on April 17 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, bringing players a new character, skins, a limited-time event, and more.
The main addition in the update is Felicia Hardy, better known as Black Cat, who joins the Duelist class. Her gameplay revolves around high mobility, evasive movement, and dealing critical damage. The developers have given her the ability to climb walls and perform double jumps. She also activates a Team-Up ability for White Fox and Captain America.
Notably, Felicia can “borrow” abilities from other characters, including Doctor Strange’s portals, Gambit’s cards, Mister Fantastic’s invisibility, and more. In terms of story, Felicia’s arrival is tied to a plan to infiltrate the Vault prison and rescue heroes being held captive by Kingpin.
A limited-time event called “Empire State University Open House Day” has also gone live and will run until June 12. By completing challenges, players can earn the epic Mantis costume “Black and Gold,” while the premium pass unlocks costumes for Psylocke (“Choco Takahashi: Wunderkind”) and Squirrel Girl (“Maureen Ollen: Programmer”). Additional costumes for Spider-Man and Blade have also appeared in the Marvel Rivals in-game store. Players who reach Gold rank before the end of the season will receive an exclusive Black Widow skin.
Starting April 23, players will get access to the PvE mode “Bloody Hunt,” in which they will fight vampires led by Dracula in New York. The mode includes four boss battles with unique mechanics, a buff system for customizing tactics, and a new loot system based on performance.
Then, on April 30, the game will launch “Road to Judgment Day,” a large-scale PvP event inspired by the 2012 Avengers movie. Its main feature will be an asymmetrical “1 vs. 6” mode, where a team of six heroes faces off against one player controlling Loki, empowered by the Mind Stone.
Previously, the Marvel Rivals team released a Lower Manhattan map trailer that teased a new hero. In other community news, a modder recently released a controversial nude mod for White Fox.
