“He Has Plenty of Ideas”: Troy Baker Doesn’t Rule Out Kojima Moving On from Death Stranding
In an interview ahead of the BAFTA Game Awards 2026, Troy Baker once again spoke about Hideo Kojima — this time focusing on his creative future. According to the actor, who played Higgs in both Death Stranding titles, the director is far from running out of ideas.
I’ve learned to trust Hideo. He has plenty of ideas. I think he’s built so much into this world and these characters — we could keep developing it for a long time.
That said, Baker immediately added that he would fully understand if Kojima decides to move on. The visionary has already announced two new projects — the experimental horror game OD and the stealth-action title Physint — so the Death Stranding universe is clearly not the only thing on his mind.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach was released on PS5 in June 2025 and arrived on PC on March 19, 2026. On Steam, the game holds a 95% positive rating. Previously, Troy Baker also spoke about Kojima’s approach to his projects and why they are not aimed at a mass audience.
