Like He Saw It Coming: Gustave’s Voice Actor from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Picks the Perfect Actor for the Movie
Charlie Cox — best known as Daredevil in Marvel series — voiced Gustave in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. At the BAFTA Game Awards 2026, he was asked whether he’d like to return to the role — and the conversation неожиданно turned into a casting discussion.
According to Cox, if Sandfall Interactive goes through with a film adaptation — which is already in the works — Gustave’s body should be played by Robert Pattinson, while he himself would prefer to keep the voice.
I think for the movie they should get Robert Pattinson to play the part. And I’d do the voice.
Fans have long noticed Gustave’s resemblance to Pattinson — especially his look in The Lighthouse. Whether that’s intentional or not, Sandfall hasn’t commented. An official adaptation of the game is currently in development, and casting has already begun.
There’s also a fun detail: Cox and Pattinson have known each other for years. In their younger days, they lived near each other in Los Angeles — alongside Andrew Garfield, Eddie Redmayne, and Jamie Dornan. Two superheroes, one character.
As for Cox himself, he recently tried playing the game — and found it quite challenging, though he greatly admires it. According to him, since the last time he played video games — back in the days of GoldenEye 007, FIFA 98, and early Mario Kart — games have made huge strides in narrative design.
Do you think Pattinson would be a good fit for Gustave? Share your thoughts in the comments.
