DOOMBLADE is Now Free to Claim on Epic Games Store

The Epic Games Store has kicked off its latest giveaway, featuring the 2023 2D metroidvania DOOMBLADE. You can claim the game for free until April 30.

DOOMBLADE is a 2D action-metroidvania that stands out with its unique combat system, where movement is tied directly to your attacks. The story follows a young girl who discovers a sentient sword deep within a dungeon. The weapon seeks vengeance against those who stripped it of its powers and bound it in chains. The title currently holds an 83% positive rating on Steam.

Looking ahead, the next free title on EGS will be Oddsparks: An Automation Adventure — an RTS blended with automation elements. Breaking away from genre tropes, the game ditches conveyor belts in favor of adorable creatures that handle logistics, production, and combat. The game boasts an 82% rating on Steam.

In other news, Steam recently launched a giveaway for the action-platformer Nocturnal, often described as a spiritual successor to Prince of Persia. Additionally, the dark point-and-click adventure The Whispering Valley went free on GOG.
