Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 celebrates its first anniversary: developers have arranged discounts and promised funny surprises
The developers of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 today celebrate the first anniversary of the project that brought them worldwide fame. Sandfall Interactive thanked the fans and announced a discount on the game.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was released on April 24, 2025, and has since become the most awarded game in history. The French JRPG has been recognized at five of the most prestigious gaming awards: Golden Joystick Awards 2025, The Game Awards 2025, DICE Awards 2026, Game Developers Choice Awards (GDCA) 2026 and BAFTA Games Awards 2026.
In honor of the anniversary, the developers organized an action. Expedition 33 is now on sale on Steam with a 20% discount.
«From your countless theories and endless debates about the endings, your incredible fanarts, your beautiful music covers, impressive cosplays, crazy speedruns and beautiful messages, we truly have been overwhelmed by a huge wave of love and kindness, and we are so, so grateful for it».
At the same time, the developers noted that the anniversary was not the reason for the release of any add-ons. However, the players will still get a celebration with a cake and unnamed funny surprises.
Despite the incredible success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, not everyone liked the game. For example, the Japanese did not need the Western JRPG. Expedition did not receive a single award at one of the most important Asian awards.
