Resident Evil Requiem Breaks Franchise Record — Capcom Celebrates with Themed Cakes
Resident Evil Requiem has reached a major commercial milestone, selling over 7 million copies and becoming the fastest-selling entry in Capcom’s history. The news was shared by game director Koshi Nakanishi on social media, where he posted celebratory images—including themed cakes—to mark the achievement.
The game launched on February 27, 2026, and saw explosive sales right out of the gate—by March, over 6 million copies had already been sold. This new 7 million milestone confirms the game’s ongoing commercial success and the strong interest from fans in the latest installment of the iconic horror series.
According to industry analysts, including Mat Piscatella, the title is already among the best-selling games in the franchise in the US market and continues to strengthen Capcom’s position in the AAA segment.
Resident Evil Requiem is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. The story centers on Leon S. Kennedy and FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft as they investigate a string of mysterious deaths near the ruins of Raccoon City. The game blends classic survival horror with more dynamic action and features the ability to switch between first- and third-person perspectives—a key innovation for the series.
