Leak Reveals Games Coming to the Cheapest Game Pass Tier — Is There Anything Worth Playing?

Following a series of leaks, new details have emerged about a potential Xbox Game Pass Starter Edition — and according to insider billbil-kun, it appears to be a rather unusual hybrid between cloud streaming access and a stripped-down Game Pass library.

The information first surfaced after user redphx analyzed the Xbox Cloud Gaming code, and was later reinforced by leaked promotional materials allegedly intended for a future version of Discord. Shortly after, The Verge journalist also highlighted the same findings. The discussion eventually gained further traction when well-known insider billbil-kun revealed the full game lineup and key features of the service.

According to the leak, Xbox Game Pass Starter Edition could become a lower-cost subscription tier featuring more than 50 games, but with a significant restriction: users would reportedly be limited to just 10 hours of cloud streaming per month. This dramatically changes the traditional Game Pass model, effectively turning it into a “capped” cloud gaming library.

Another unexpected detail is the apparent lack of console multiplayer access. Sources claim that Starter Edition could become the only Xbox Game Pass console tier without online multiplayer support. This would mean that even if players own games such as Call of Duty or EA Sports FC, they would not be able to access multiplayer features through this subscription. Free-to-play titles like Warzone are also said to have no special integration with this tier.
