Saros from the creators of Returnal is now live for Deluxe owners — critics call it one of the best PS5 exclusives in years
Today, April 28, owners of the Digital Deluxe Edition получили early access to Saros — the new title from Housemarque, the studio behind Returnal. The full release launches April 30, 2026, exclusively on PS5.
Saros is a spiritual successor to Returnal. You play as Arjun Devraj — an agent of the Soltari, voiced by Rahul Kohli, known for Midnight Mass and The Haunting of Bly Manor. What begins as a rescue mission on the planet Carcosa — a mysterious world trapped in a permanent eclipse — quickly turns into something far darker.
The world shifts with every run: procedural generation, roguelike structure, and Housemarque’s signature bullet-hell combat are all here. New additions include permanent upgrades between runs, a shield with parry mechanics, a skill tree, and the Eclipse system — which strengthens enemies but pushes the narrative forward.
Critics have already weighed in — and the response is largely positive. Scores range from 70 to 93, with praise focused on combat, atmosphere, and visuals. The most common criticism is the storytelling. Overall, Saros is being called one of the strongest PlayStation exclusives in recent years.
The Digital Deluxe Edition costs $79.99 and includes 48-hour early access and three exclusive armor skins — inspired by Returnal, God of War, and Ghost of Yotei. The standard edition is priced at $69.99. The game also features full Russian localization.
