«I can’t fight this»: Nintendo deleted the channel of a popular blogger because of the animation about Pokemon
Nintendo continues to actively fight against anyone who, according to the company's lawyers, violates copyrights. This time, a serious blow fell on the PokeNational, who made 3D animations of various Pokemon supposedly living in the wild.
The author of PokeNational is called Elious, and his channel has almost 100,000 subscribers. Kotaku writes that the blogger has been making his videos since 2023, and there have been no problems. Yes, Elious drew real Pokemon, but the animation was original. According to the blogger, the attention from Nintendo to his channel seems strange, because there are many other authors who use Pokemon images.
Anyway, 20 videos were deleted from the PokeNational channel in just 12 hours. This happened after complaints from Nintendo of America. The reason is the use of content from Pokemon video games, including audiovisual works, characters, and images. According to YouTube's rules, after three violations, the channel is blocked and can be deleted after seven days.
Elious noted that he is ready to get rid of any mentions of Pokemon, but he would like to keep the channel so that he can make videos on other topics.
«I can’t fight this. I don’t… I don’t know what to do about it because it’ll remove everything. I’m downloading stuff, of course, I have like, all the videos myself. But I’ll never be able to post them again, and I’ll never be able to use this channel again. Almost 100,000 subscribers over three years of making these animations and it’s all going to be gone in seven days».
Apparently, the blogger has come to terms with what is happening and is preparing to delete the channel. Now it has been renamed 404 Not Found, all videos have been deleted, but the Pokemon-related posts in the community remain.
By the way, last week, an unexpected blow fell on Nintendo itself. While the company was trying to sue the US government for money, gamers filed a class action lawsuit against it.
