A New First-Person TMNT Action Game Launches on Steam — TMNT: Empire City
Beyond Frames Entertainment and Cortopia Studios have just released a brand-new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game, titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Empire City. The project is designed exclusively for VR devices and is available on Steam with a 20% launch discount until May 14.
Described as a first-person action-adventure, TMNT: Empire City puts players in the role of one of the Ninja Turtles, dropping them into a gritty, post-Shredder New York City. With power struggles erupting across the city and the Foot Clan tightening its grip on the streets, familiar neighborhoods are quickly turning into dangerous battlegrounds.
Players will fight using each Turtle’s unique weapons, mixing precise attacks, blocks, and dodges, while gradually upgrading gear and abilities. Traversal features parkour elements, letting you freely move across rooftops and urban environments. The game supports both solo play and four-player co-op, allowing you to develop your own playstyle and experience the TMNT legend in a fresh, interactive way.
Fun fact: there were once plans for a dark, R-rated TMNT movie, but the project was ultimately canceled. However, franchise co-creator Kevin Eastman still hopes to see the film—based on the Last Ronin comic—revived someday.
What do you think of this new take on the Ninja Turtles—a first-person VR action game with four-player co-op? Is it a successful reimagining of the franchise, or too radical an experiment?
