Insider Reveals Date for Sony’s Massive Days of Play Sale
Sony is preparing to bring back its annual Days of Play promotion, and according to reliable insider billbil-kun, the sale will kick off on May 27 and run through June 10, 2026. Over the course of two weeks, PlayStation users can expect discounts on games, accessories, and hardware, although this year’s event arrives amid recent price hikes for PS5 consoles and PlayStation Plus subscriptions — making players even more eager for deals.
According to a report from Dealabs, this year’s offers will reportedly be similar in scale to the discounts seen during Black Friday 2025. Standard DualSense controllers are expected to receive a €20 discount, starting at €54.99, while the premium DualSense Edge could drop by €30, lowering its price from €219.99 to €189.99.
The biggest discount is expected to target PS VR2. Sony is reportedly planning to slash the headset’s price by €100, bringing it down to €349.99 from €449.99. Discounts are also rumored for the Pulse Elite headset and Pulse Explore earbuds. Meanwhile, PlayStation Plus subscribers may receive an additional 5% discount through PlayStation Direct, which can reportedly be stacked with other Days of Play offers.
Among the games expected to be included in the sale is Ghost of Yotei, which could see its price reduced from €79.99 to €54.99. Retailers such as Amazon, Fnac, and Micromania are also expected to launch their own promotions, as they have in previous years.
However, the biggest question surrounding Days of Play 2026 remains the consoles themselves. According to current reports, Sony is not planning discounts for the PS5, PS5 Pro, or PS Portal this year. Many speculate this decision may be tied to the company’s recent price increases. In April, the standard PS5 in Europe jumped to €649.99, the Digital Edition rose to €599.99, and the PS5 Pro climbed to €899.99.
Additional excitement around the promotion is also being fueled by the recent announcement of a new State of Play presentation set to take place on June 2 — right in the middle of Days of Play Sony has already confirmed the showcase will run for over an hour and feature an extended look at Marvel's Wolverine.
Sony has yet to officially reveal the full details of the sale, but if the company follows its usual schedule, the complete Days of Play 2026 announcement should arrive on May 26.
