State of Play reveals new story trailer for ILL — horror, gore, and pure body nightmare from the publisher of Atomic Heart
Team Clout brought a new story trailer for ILL to State of Play — and it looks exactly like horror should: characters, locations, gunfire, monsters, and a lot of disgusting body horror. The focus is clear: pure, oppressive terror.
ILL is the debut project from Team Clout, released under the Mundfish Powerhouse label — yes, from the creators of Atomic Heart. It’s a first-person horror game built on Unreal Engine 5, where players find themselves inside an abandoned fort taken over by an unknown entity. Alien parasites infect humans and turn them into grotesque puppets, while the “advanced dismemberment system” lets you tear off limbs, damage bodies, and watch monsters adapt to your actions. The developers come from horror filmmaking, and it shows: every shot feels staged like a movie scene.
At the same time, ILL isn’t just a dark-corridor walking simulator with a flashlight. The player is armed, can craft, upgrade weapons, and actively fight back. The studio emphasizes that you won’t simply hide in corners from invincible monsters — you can hit back. But every encounter still feels like a struggle to survive.
The game has already passed one million wishlists on Steam. Release is expected in 2027. Platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
