Star Wars Zero Company Gets Gameplay Trailer and August 2026 Release Date at Summer Game Fest

EA announced that Star Wars Zero Company, a turn-based tactical strategy game, will debut its gameplay trailer during the Summer Game Fest 2026 opening ceremony. The game is being developed by Bit Reactor, a studio made up of Firaxis Games veterans, in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment.

Star Wars Zero Company is set for release on August 27, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Players can already wishlist the game on its Steam page, PlayStation Store, Epic Games Store, and Xbox Store. Two editions will be available at launch: standard and deluxe.

The game offers a single-player, XCOM-style experience set during the Clone Wars era — a departure from previous Respawn Star Wars titles. Players will take on the role of a former Republic army officer who left service after a significant military failure. The story begins as the protagonist's squad is assigned a secret mission by Republic intelligence to hunt down a threat that could endanger the entire galaxy.

Bit Reactor's involvement brings a pedigree of strategy expertise, promising a fresh approach within the Star Wars universe. The game introduces a new cast of characters and focuses on tactical, turn-based combat rather than the action-driven gameplay seen in other recent Star Wars games.

Also slated for release in 2026 is Star Wars: Galactic Racer, a racing game with its own collector's edition. With both titles arriving this year, fans have plenty to look forward to from the Star Wars franchise.
