God of War: Laufey Release May Be Sooner Than Expected, Despite No Date at State of Play

Despite the lack of a release window, prominent insider and journalist Jason Schreier has downplayed concerns about a long wait. Schreier stated that «I wouldn't read too much into God of War: Laufey not getting a release date or window — in contrast to a lot of other big announcements, this one isn't years away.» He further added that the game is set to launch before 2028, with some insiders suggesting a possible release in winter or spring 2027. Industry sources note that Sony may have withheld the release date for God of War: Laufey to focus attention on Marvel’s Wolverine, another major PlayStation 5 exclusive launching ahead of Grand Theft Auto VI.
