Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition Brings New Content and DLC to Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28, 2026

Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have officially announced the release date for Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on Nintendo Switch 2. The acclaimed action RPG will arrive on the new console on August 28, 2026, priced at $79.99.

Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition bundles the base game with the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, and introduces brand new content. Players can expect two new starting classes — Knight/Knightess of Ides and Heavy Warrior — alongside four new armor sets, two of which are tied to these classes and two more available during the adventure. The edition also features new weapons and customization options for Torrent, including appearance, adornments, and saddle tweaks. Notably, the armor set of Lucatiel of Mirrah from Dark Souls II is included, offering a nod to FromSoftware's broader universe.

The additional content from Tarnished Edition will not be exclusive to Switch 2. Bandai Namco confirmed it will launch as the Tarnished Pack DLC for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on the same day, priced at 550 Yen (about $4 USD).

The Switch 2 port was initially scheduled for late 2025, but was delayed after early previews at Gamescom 2025 highlighted performance issues. FromSoftware used the extra time to optimize the game, with previews in March 2026 showing significant improvements in frame rate and stability.

Elden Ring originally launched in February 2022 and has sold over 30 million copies worldwide, with the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion reaching 10 million units. The arrival of Tarnished Edition and its new content is set to bring players back for another journey through the Lands Between.
