The Real Mass Effect Successor? 19 Minutes of Sci-Fi RPG Exodus Gameplay Revealed
At the conclusion of the Future Games Show, viewers were treated to an extensive gameplay showcase of the upcoming sci-fi RPG Exodus. The footage highlights core mechanics, combat systems, exploration, and companion interactions.
Exodus is an ambitious, story-driven, third-person sci-fi role-playing game. It is being developed by Archetype Entertainment, a studio staffed by industry veterans, including former key BioWare developers who helped shape Mass Effect, Dragon Age: Origins, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. The RPG's lead writer is Drew Karpyshyn, the narrative architect behind BioWare's most iconic universes. Set 40,000 years after humanity fled Earth, the plot centers on humanity's struggle for survival against a powerful, advanced race known as the Celestials. Players will step into the shoes of Jun Aslan, a Traveler embarking on interstellar expeditions. The game is being built on Unreal Engine 5.
Exodus is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. A release date has not yet been announced.
