At Xbox Games Showcase 2026, SEGA officially unveiled Crazy Taxi: World Tour, a brand-new entry in the iconic arcade racing franchise. The announcement was accompanied by the game's debut trailer.

In the new installment, players will once again get behind the wheel of a crazy cab and embark on a globe-trotting adventure across some of the world's most famous cities. The story follows Axel, the fan-favorite taxi driver, who finds himself caught up in an unusual mission after a mysterious international gang of masked criminals steals his beloved taxi.

To get his ride back and uncover the villains' plans, Axel will travel around the world, visit five unique cities, and meet a colorful cast of characters. Each location will feature its own set of missions, challenges, and odd jobs, rewarding players with increasingly outrageous amounts of cash.

SEGA promises to preserve the series' signature chaotic gameplay while introducing a variety of new features. Players can expect high-speed races, massive jumps, stylish drifting, dangerous maneuvers, and plenty of missions involving some of the strangest passengers imaginable.

Crazy Taxi: World Tour will feature multiple game modes. In addition to the story-driven world tour, players will be able to complete side activities, take on unconventional jobs, and earn money however they see fit. SEGA is also bringing back a classic-inspired Arcade Mode, offering fast-paced time trials and tip-earning competitions reminiscent of the series' roots.

Vehicle customization will play a major role as well. Players will have access to a garage full of unique cars, each of which can be upgraded and tailored to suit their driving style.

For the first time in the franchise's history, Crazy Taxi will also include full online multiplayer modes. Players will be able to compete against friends and taxi drivers from around the world in a variety of challenges to determine who truly deserves the title of the craziest cabbie.

Crazy Taxi: World Tour is scheduled to launch in 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

By the way, we've also published our list of the best racing games for low-end PCs and laptops in 2026.
