Join Us Announced: Co-op Cult Simulator Lets You Build Your Own Sect on Xbox and PC in Fall 2026

The new Join Us centers on an open-ended ideology system that lets 1-4 players stitch together belief systems — from UFO worship to cannibalism — and use those doctrines to shape progression, follower behaviour and the story.

Wolf Haus Games announced the title at the Xbox Games Showcase, and there's already a Steam page for wishlisting.

Players establish a branch of a doomsday cult in rural America under the guidance of a mysterious "Leader" (the sect's figurehead). The ideology system is the core mechanic: you assemble tenets from almost anything, then unlock a progression tree and in-game perks tied to those dogmas. Recruitment uses propaganda plus a "Leader Vision" mechanic (a targeting aid that highlights emotionally vulnerable people in crowds, presented satirically by the developers as a twist on detective-vision tropes). Recruited followers can be armed and sent to defend your compound, fight police, or clash with rival groups, while you manage resources, expand your base and try to survive until the apocalypse.

Dark humour threads through the gameplay: flamethrowers, combat pigs, musical performances and even bear-riding are on offer. The game includes over 60 story missions, all playable in co-op, and escalation of law enforcement scrutiny makes expansion progressively more difficult.

Join Us will support Xbox Play Anywhere for shared progress between Xbox Series X/S and PC and will be available on Game Pass from day one. The exact release date will be revealed in summer 2026.

How do you feel about the freedom to create cults based on any ideology — even the most controversial ones — in a co-op game like Join Us?
