Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave Release Date Confirmed for Switch 2
During the latest Nintendo Direct, Nintendo officially announced the release date for the tactical RPG Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. The title will launch on September 17 for the Switch 2.
This new installment arrives three years after Fire Emblem: Engage. Judging by the fresh trailer, Fortune's Weave retains the franchise's classic gameplay—featuring turn-based tactical combat, grid-based army management, and magic systems—while introducing several major innovations. Shifting away from series tradition, players will follow four distinct protagonists, each with their own narrative arc: Kai, Theodora, Dietrich, and Leda.
The developers also showcased the Collector's Edition for Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. It bundles the game with a steelbook, a set of art cards, a world map, and an artbook.
The narrative of Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave marks a massive departure for the series. Instead of the typical continent-spanning war between nations, the story centers around a massive gladiatorial tournament known as the "Heroic Games." The plot unfolds in Dagsion, the capital of the Dagda Empire, ruled by the mysterious and powerful Divine Sovereign. The campaign will be split across four distinct story paths.
As a side note, Nintendo also announced a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
How do you feel about the setting shifting from an all-out war to a gladiatorial tournament?
