Battlefield 6 will be temporarily free to play on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S from June 30 to July 6, 2026. The promotional event coincides with the release of the massive Game Update 1.3.3.0.
The free-to-play trial focuses entirely on Battlefield 6’s multiplayer suite, leaving the single-player campaign locked. Players will gain access to five multiplayer modes and four maps, featuring the massive Railway to Golmud and a reworked Cairo Bazaar. The event also introduces Tactical Obliteration, a high-stakes, fast-paced new mode built around tight squad coordination. Any progression made—including achievements and unlocks—will carry over seamlessly to the full game upon purchase.
Battlefield 6 launched on October 10, 2025, initially drawing a record-shattering 750,000 concurrent players on Steam. However, player retention has dipped significantly since then. This free trial serves as a direct push to revitalize the community following a recent drop in active player counts and sliding user reviews.
