Mystery Metroid Ravenous Rated in Brazil

An unannounced game titled Metroid Ravenous for the Nintendo Switch 2 has been spotted in the official database of Brazil's Ministry of Justice and Public Security. Although the rating page was swiftly taken down, quick-eyed users managed to capture screenshots before it vanished.

Metroid Ravenous received a "12+" age rating due to depictions of weapon-based violence, blood, killings, and mild sexual content. Speculation is already mounting online that this mysterious project could be a direct sequel to Metroid Dread by MercurySteam, which stands as the best-selling entry in the franchise after moving 3.07 million copies in its first year.

This leak comes on the heels of news from mid-May, which revealed that MercurySteam had been hit with a wave of studio layoffs.
