Genshin Impact Version 7.0 Will Raise System Requirements
HoYoverse says Genshin Impact version 7.0, due on August 12, 2026, will introduce upgraded character models, textures, and visual effects alongside a higher technical bar.
On Android, the base minimum requirements will stay the same: Snapdragon 660 or MediaTek Helio G88, 4 GB of RAM, and Android 10. Even so, HoYoverse warned that some Android GPUs may no longer run the game stably after version 7.0, and some devices may even become incompatible.
The problematic GPU list includes Mali-G52 MP2, Mali-G57 MP, Imagination BXM, and early PowerVR GE/GM/Rogue chips, so the update is most likely to affect older budget Android phones that were already close to the limit.
PC minimum and recommended requirements will remain unchanged with version 7.0, and the same goes for iOS and consoles. HoYoverse also said the update will bring new character models, more detailed environment textures, and new visual effects.
Beyond the technical changes, version 7.0 will also open the path to Snezhnaya. That makes the update important not only for players on weaker devices, but also for the game's next major world development.
Will version 7.0 force budget Android players to upgrade their phones, or will most devices still cope?
