NVIDIA Unveils GeForce Trading Cards Series 1, a Gree Collectible Set
NVIDIA announced a free collectible set on July 9, 2026, turning pieces of GeForce history into 14 physical trading cards. The company says the project is meant to celebrate the brand's past rather than introduce new gaming hardware.
Series 1 looks back at GeForce history through retro-inspired designs based on NV1, GeForce 256, GeForce 3, GeForce 7800 GTX, GeForce 10 Series, and GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. NVIDIA also included cards inspired by classic real-time demos such as Bubble, Chameleon, and Medusa, turning the set into a small paper-and-card tribute to the company's own archive.
The cards will be handed out for free through Summer of RTX giveaways on NVIDIA's social channels and at select events, including Bilibili World 2026, QuakeCon 2026, and gamescom 2026. To try to get a pack, fans must share a story about their first GeForce gaming experience.
NVIDIA frames the promotion around that personal angle:
Every PC gamer has an origin story. Maybe it started with the first graphics card installed in a new desktop; a weekend LAN; a favorite arena shooter; a tech demo running on repeat; or perhaps a stunning new game that made an upgrade well and truly worthwhile.
That means the giveaway is less about hardware and more about memory — and about what GeForce meant to players at different points in time. The cards are free, but they will be distributed only through selected channels and events, so getting them will depend on where and how NVIDIA runs each drop.
So would you rather see a GeForce collectible set like this, or a giveaway built around actual hardware?
