Activision Reveals Kill Block Mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4
Activision has revealed the new Kill Block mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, featuring shifting arenas that change up dynamically mid-match. The mode will launch with over 500 map combinations, and a deep-dive breakdown is already live over on the PlayStation Blog.
In Kill Block, maps are built using three modular sections: two outer End Slabs and one Central Slab. This setup ensures that no two matches feel the same, with the arena reshuffling both between rounds and between games. The action takes place at the West Bridge Advanced Military Training Facility.
At launch, Kill Block will support 3v3 Gunfight and a brand-new 10v10 Gunfight variant. Every two rounds, the map folds into a completely new Combo while players are hit with a fresh randomized weapon loadout. The first team to hit six round wins takes the match.
The mode will make its public debut at Fanatics Fest in New York. The event runs from July 16 to 19 at New York City's Javits Center, meaning we won't have to wait long for a proper look at it in action.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is locked in for an October 23 release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
On a side note, both Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 recently made their way to PS4 and PS5.
