Palworld Hits Nearly 1 Million Steam Players After Version 1.0 Launch
Palworld has returned to Steam's top-tier concurrency charts after its version 1.0 launch on July 10, climbing back into the platform's all-time top 15 with 921,485 concurrent players. The game's comeback landed just below Baldur's Gate 3 and above Battlefield 6.
The surge was sharp even by the game's own standards. Just a few days earlier, on June 29, Palworld's peak on Steam was about 58,000 players, which means the monthly player count jumped by more than 1,700% after the 1.0 update.
That update was the largest in Palworld's history. Pocketpair added 72 new Pals, new areas in the open world, and reworked existing locations. The patch also increased the player cap and introduced many new mechanics.
The patch notes were so extensive that they did not fit on the Steam store page. Even so, the game is still far from its own all-time peak: during its January 2024 early access launch, Palworld reached 2.1 million concurrent players.
The game's 1.0 launch has clearly given it a second wind on Steam, but the question is whether that momentum can last. With player numbers this high again, how close can Palworld get to its old record?
