Deep Silver and KING Art Games have released a new cinematic trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4, putting the Necrons' return to Kronus front and center. The video is the third of four in-game CGI scenes planned for the game, which is due out on PC on September 17, 2026.

The trailer opens with Totmek, a Necron chronomancer, watching the battle for Kronus from orbit while Space Marines and Orks clash below. It then shows the Necrons awakening and preparing to retake the ancient tomb world, where they have slept for 60 million years.

The faction is being presented as a playable one in Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4. The trailer also highlights a growing Necron army made up of Necron warriors, Triarch Stalkers, Canoptek Scarabs, and Lychguard.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4 is currently in development by King Art Games. The project is being positioned as a true return to the series' roots, bringing back classic base-building, large-scale warfare, and a heavy emphasis on tactical army management rather than the MOBA-style elements that alienated fans in the third installment.

Are you more interested in the Necrons' return, or in how the game is handling Kronus this time?
