Resident Evil 4 Remake Crowned Best-Selling Remake of Current Console Generation

Resident Evil 4 Remake has generated roughly $560 million in gross revenue for Capcom, according to market research firm Alinea Analytics. With total sales reaching an estimated 16.8 million copies across all platforms, the title has officially been crowned the best-selling remake of the current console generation.

Alinea Analytics provided a detailed platform breakdown for the sales revenue, noting that PlayStation led the pack with 53.1% of total earnings, followed by Steam at 34.1%, and Xbox at 12.8%. Translated into units sold, that equates to 7.4 million copies on PlayStation, 6.8 million on Steam, and 1.6 million on Xbox.

Analysts highlighted that nearly 4 million units were sold in 2026 alone, allowing Resident Evil 4 Remake to significantly widen the gap between itself and other contemporary remakes. According to Alinea Analytics' leaderboard, the top spots are rounded out by Ark: Survival Ascended, The Last of Us Part 1, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, Dead Space, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and Silent Hill 2. The data accounts for sales spanning from November 10, 2020, through to the present across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam).

Backed by these massive figures, Resident Evil 4 Remake stands not just as a highly successful reimagining of a classic, but as one of the highest-grossing single-player survival horror games in history.
