Former Halo Developer Calls Halo: Campaign Evolved 'Clown World' Over Marine Squad

Niles Sankey has taken aim at Halo: Campaign Evolved after a screenshot of the UNSC marine squad circulated on X, accusing the remake of pushing diversity too far. The game is still unreleased, and its official launch is scheduled for July 28, 2026.
The Halo devs have apparently decided that the MAJORITY of marines should now be women.
I'm fine w occasionally seeing a woman marine, whatever, but we're starting to enter clown world territory here.
Sankey also suggested that the change was driven by ideology rather than game logic, and said the developers seemed to believe it was their moral duty to add "diversity." For comparison, he pointed out that the original Halo: Combat Evolved from 2001 had almost no female marine models.
Halo: Campaign Evolved is not limited to visuals, though. Halo Studios has said the remake will include updated graphics, new missions, co-op, and expanded gameplay.
Premium edition owners have already started early access, while everyone else is still waiting for the full release on July 28, 2026.
